Court Mediation

Courts in the state of Oregon offer a range of mediation services, depending on the local court rules. All courts, however, make mediation available to couples who have an active court case where the parents have not yet agreed about custody or parenting time.

Other types of cases which may be eligible for mediation through your local courts include:

Small Claims
Evictions
Civil Claims
Adult Guardianship
Child Welfare
Victim Offender

Court connected mediators must meet certain training and supervision standards. Those vary somewhat, depending on the type of case is involved. All court mediators must meet the same basic mediation training. Continuing education is also required to ensure that mediators are keeping their skills up to date.
