2009 Conference: Housing
We want the OMA Fall Conference to be as accessible as possible to a wide range of participants. We have kept our conference rates as low as possible; plus we will be arranging a special hotel discount rate at one or two area hotels and will be helping coordinate homestays, room sharing, and carpooling.
There are many hotels and bed & breakfasts located in Eugene, Oregon. The following establishments are offering discounted rates for OMA Conference attendees:
The Broadway Inn (476 E Broadway, Eugene, OR 97401) is located in downtown Eugene, approximately one mile from the conference site. Conference rates are $48.95 plus tax per night (1 bed, single or double occupancy) and $62.95 plus tax per night (2 beds, double to quad occupancy). Parking is free. Rates are good until the conference date, subject to availability.
The Best Western New Oregon Motel (1655 Franklin Blvd, Eugene, OR 97403) is located 3 blocks from the conference site and has set aside rooms for $86.99 plus tax per night (single or double occupancy) or $89.99 plus tax per night for two beds. Rates are good until October 25th, subject to availability.
If you’re interested in sharing a hotel room with another conference attendee, please let us know. We’ll keep a list of people looking for roommates and do our best to coordinate these room shares. Email oma@omediate.org if you are looking for a conference roommate. Please include:
- Your name, email address, and phone number
- Which nights you plan to stay (Thursday, Friday, and/or Saturday)
- Any special requirements or requests
Homestays are a great way to help conference attendees keep costs down as well as enjoy Eugene’s fabulous hospitality!
Do you have room in your home in Eugene that you would like to share with conference attendees from other areas? Are you looking for a Homestay during the conference?
If you would like to offer a Homestay, please email oma@omediate.org with the following information:
- Your name, address, email address and phone number
- The number of people you can accommodate
- The dates housing is available (Thursday, Friday and/or Saturday nights)
- The accommodations available (e.g. private room with queen bed, couch in living room, etc.)
- Whether you are attending the conference and could provide transportation to/from the conference site
- Any additional information that might be useful (e.g. pets in the house, smoking/non-smoking, etc.)
If you are looking for a Homestay, please email oma@omediate.org with the following information:
- Your name, email address and phone number
- The number of people in your group requesting a Homestay
- The dates that you need lodging (Thursday, Friday, and/or Saturday nights)
- Whether you’ll need a private room or are comfortable sleeping on a couch
- Whether you'll need transportation to/from the conference site
- Whether you have any special needs (e.g. allergies, no pets, smoking/non-smoking, etc.)
As Homestay opportunities become available, we will contact those on our list. Please be advised that we will not know how many Homestays are available until closer to the conference so make sure you make alternative arrangements for housing. We’ll do our best to find you a Homestay, and we’ll let you know one way or the other as soon as possible.
