2009 Conference: Transportation & Parking
The 2009 OMA Fall Conference will be held at the University of Oregon
School of Law, 1515 Agate Street, Eugene, OR 97403.
If you are driving, the first stop you should make on your visit to the University of Oregon is at the Information Kiosk on the corner of Beech Street and Thirteenth Avenue. Open weekdays from 7:30 AM to 4:15 PM and weekend schedule varies depending on events, the kiosk is a convenient place to obtain parking information. Visitor permits, maps of campus buildings and parking lots, and directions to campus and Eugene destinations are all available here. The electronic bulletin board located on the front window of the kiosk lists lots with available parking during busy times.
To reach the kiosk, turn onto Agate Street and turn right onto Thirteenth Avenue. If the kiosk is closed, please visit Public Safety at 1319 East Fifteenth Avenue, near the corner of Onyx Street and Fifteenth Avenue.
- A $5.00 parking permit is required to park in a campus lot until 6:00 p.m. Parking permits can be purchased at the Information Kiosk at 13th & Agate.
- A parking permit is not required after 6:00 p.m. on Friday and all day Saturday. However, on-street meters are still enforced.
- The parking lot closest to the University of Oregon Law School is 34E. Enter from the north side of E 17th Ave. between Columbia St. and Moss St. or from the East side of Columbia St. between E 17th Ave. and E 15th Ave.
- Backup Parking may be available at parking lot 38. Enter off of E 17th Ave. or on E 19th Ave. between Agate St. and Columbia St.
- Parking lots fill up so allow yourself plenty of time to find a spot.
- For information on parking, call the Department of Public Safety at 541-346-5444.
- On-street parking meters are enforced both Friday and Saturday. Payment for meters is with quarters only, not credit card. In November, the likely rate for parking meters will be $1.00/hour.
Airlines
The Eugene Airport (EUG), conveniently located approximately ten miles from downtown and campus, is serviced by United, Northwest, US Air, Alaska, Delta and other flights connecting to major airlines. For Eugene Airport information, call (541) 682-5544. Some visitors choose to fly into Portland International Airport (PDX) and drive two hours south to Eugene.
Train or Bus
For information, contact Amtrak, Eugene at 800-872-7245, Greyhound-Trailways, Eugene at 541-344-6265, or Lane Transit District (Eugene's bus system) at 541-687-5555.
The Oregon Mediation Association is available to assist you in carpooling to and from the conference. If you can offer others a ride or you would like to find a ride, please contact Tom Fiscus, OMA Conference Committee member, at tom@fiscusandstoneman.com or 503-704-2821. He will maintain a list of everyone offering and needing rides and will be available to put you in contact with other OMA members attending the conference.
*From the Eugene Airport: Follow Highway 99 until it becomes West Seventh Avenue. Get in the right lane and follow West Seventh Avenue until it becomes Franklin Boulevard. Get in the right lane and follow Franklin Boulevard to Agate Street. Turn right onto Agate and right again onto East Thirteenth Avenue.
Proceed to the Information Kiosk and purchase your parking permit (for Friday only) and pick up a campus map. Make a U-turn in the round-about and then head east again on 13th. Turn right onto Agate. Proceed about half way down the block and turn left into Parking Lot 34e. If that is full, turn around, proceed out of the parking lot, take a right and look for parking in Lot 38 at the corner of 17th and Agate.
*From Portland and the North: From I-5 South, take Exit 194B onto I-105 West. Take Exit 2, keep left and follow the signs to the University of Oregon. Proceed in the left lane over the Ferry Street Bridge, exiting onto Broadway, which becomes Franklin Boulevard. Follow Franklin Boulevard to Agate Street. Turn right onto Agate and right again onto East Thirteenth Avenue. Proceed to the Information Kiosk.
Proceed to the Information Kiosk and purchase your parking permit (for Friday only) and pick up a campus map. Make a U-turn in the round-about and then head east again on 13th. Turn right onto Agate. Proceed about half way down the block and turn left into Parking Lot 34e. If that is full, turn around, proceed out of the parking lot, take a right and look for parking in Lot 38 at the corner of 17th and Agate.
*From Ashland and the South: From I-5 North, take Exit 192. Merge onto Franklin Boulevard. After merging, get in the left lane and follow Franklin Boulevard through three lights. (Look for a "UO Next Left" sign as you drive west on Franklin Boulevard.) At the fourth light, turn left onto East Thirteenth Avenue. Proceed two blocks to the four-way stop sign at Agate Street. Continue straight ahead to the Information Kiosk.
Proceed to the Information Kiosk and purchase your parking permit (for Friday only) and pick up a campus map. Make a U-turn in the round-about and then head east again on 13th. Turn right onto Agate. Proceed about half way down the block and turn left into Parking Lot 34e. If that is full, turn around, proceed out of the parking lot, take a right and look for parking in Lot 38 at the corner of 17th and Agate.
*From the Oregon Coast: Take Highway 126 East until it becomes West Eleventh Avenue. Follow West Eleventh Avenue to Garfield Street and turn left. Take Garfield to West Seventh Avenue and turn right. Get in the right lane and follow West Seventh Avenue until it becomes Franklin Boulevard. Get in the right lane and follow Franklin Boulevard to Agate Street. Turn right onto Agate and right again onto East Thirteenth Avenue. Proceed to the Information Kiosk.
Proceed to the Information Kiosk and purchase your parking permit (for Friday only) and pick up a campus map. Make a U-turn in the round-about and then head east again on 13th. Turn right onto Agate. Proceed about half way down the block and turn left into Parking Lot 34e. If that is full, turn around, proceed out of the parking lot, take a right and look for parking in Lot 38 at the corner of 17th and Agate.
*From Bend and the East: Take Highway 126 West through Springfield which becomes I-105 in Eugene after you cross over I-5. Take Exit 2, the Coburg Road exit ramp; keep left at the fork in the ramp. Go straight onto southbound Coburg Road, which becomes the Ferry Street Bridge. Stay in the left lane on the bridge, exiting onto Broadway, which becomes Franklin Boulevard. Follow Franklin Boulevard to Agate Street. Turn right onto Agate and right again onto East Thirteenth Avenue. Proceed to the Information Kiosk.
